Verbal extremism in defense of civil liberties is no vice

Jennifer Abel is an American writer who began her career in print media three minutes before the Internet killed the industry. After starting at a small Connecticut daily she moved to the Hartford Advocate, an alt-weekly where her journalistic coups included infiltrating a Furries convention and working on a phone sex line (which fired her six hours later). Since then she’s written for, or been reprinted in, dozens of print and web outlets, including Playboy, the Guardian, Salon, AlterNet, Mashable, the Daily Dot and pretty much every website with the words "cannabis" or "legalize it" in the title. Once, when she was young and naïve and needed the money, she unwittingly edited SEO copy for a spammer. However, in light of the spambot comments she’s deleted from her own blogs since then, she figures she’s more than repaid that particular karmic debt. Jennifer is currently looking for professional, non-spam writing jobs; interested editors are enthusiastically invited to e-mail her.

I think Palin reads American History a little too carefully in a situation that calls for a polymath.
Just stick with the poem and forget it.
What's insufferable about her is her cheerleader style, learned early in high school probably.

I totally get that some people have Sarah Palin derangement syndrome and cannot help themselves. But it would appear that Palin's comments were accurate and hardly worthy of notice.
On the other hand Obama recently claimed that Chrysler has paid back all the money the taxpayers gave them and this is a lie. A serious lie as opposed to being slightly inaccurate about a historical event which has been misrepresented in text books in all our schools. It would seem to be noteworthy that the president lied about a serious political issue and deserving of our attention. So why does the media ignore Obama's lies and gaffs and concentrate on Sarah Palin??? Is there a conspiracy to divert the public's attention away from the impending disaster and Obama's part in creating it?
Anonymous commenter, I suspect that if Hillary CLinton or any other politico with a -(D) after her name made the same comment about Paul Revere, or our staunch ally North Korea, you would quite rightly castigate her as a lead-tongued ignoramus.
And yes, Obama is a horrible president too. Palin's idiocy does nothing to alleviate Obama's horribleness, as Obama's horribleness does nothing to alleviate Palin's idiocy.
