Quick Clarification
In light of the small avalanche of fan mail I've been receiving from folks checking out this blog after Googling my name, I'd like to make the following public-service announcement:
I am not the same Jennifer Abel who recently went to Beijing as a member of Canada's Olympic diving team. If you don't believe me, then check out her photograph and compare it to mine. Other differences worth noting: I'm an inch taller than she is, several pounds lighter, considerably paler and (sigh) old enough to be her mother, assuming I started young.

Oh hell, you aren't old. You're not even in your forties yet. Me, I'm literally old enough to have been your father and even I am not old...well not all the time anyway. ;-)
You also look a lot more pissed off than she does.
I still can't stand the way my picture gets compressed on the front page to make me look so pissed off, Windy.
But I'm glad I made this post; I've already sent out a couple of e-mails saying "Thank you, but I'm not the one who competed in Beijing."
I don't know, the resemblance is spooky....A sister perhaps?

I believe Ms. Abel was referring to the cab fare during her recent junket to London.
